There may come a time when you realize the Medicare plan you are enrolled in doesn’t fit your needs. That’s OK!
The best time to make a switch is during the Medicare annual enrollment period from October 15 to December 7.
During this time you can change from an Original Medicare plan to a Medicare Advantage plan or switch from one Medicare Advantage plan to another. Your new plan takes effect in January.
Some circumstances, like moving to a new home, changing doctors, or becoming eligible for other coverage, may necessitate changing a plan at a different time. This is called a Special Election Period and the amount of time you have to decide on changes varies depending on the circumstance.
It’s a good idea to review your plan and your needs annually. If you feel like your current Medicare Advantage plan isn’t serving your needs, feel free to call us for a consultation to go through your options.
